ALBERT COOPER
Founder
Albert was born and raised in the Peace country and though his work and education took him away from here for several years he and his family returned to the peace area to make their home in 1993.
Now retired, Albert spent his career in the Recreation Vehicles, Real Estate, and Transportation Industries. He has been an active volunteer in our community serving in many organizations with a special interest in Economic Development.
Through his involvement in minor hockey, he saw a need for an opportunity for the young hockey players to continue to play after their minor hockey years were done. He dreamed of a team that would push the development of these young athletes with an emphasis on fitness, a healthy lifestyle, a commitment to team and to community, and an overall development of the whole person to build and encourage the future leaders of our community.
With that in mind Albert approached and obtained a team franchise from the NWJHL. Once he had the franchise his son Brandon introduced him to the late Darcy Haugan and together with Darcy, Brandon, Albert's wife Wendy, and daughter Tanin, they began to put together a team of people, and programs that they believed would build a strong and effective organization. For 20 plus years that organization has continued to evolve and develop and has delivered one of the most successful teams in the NWJHL and has won numerous league Championships, Provincial medals, and a bronze medal at Westerns.
